Colorado's Newest (Oldest) Backcountry hut
The 1883 North London Mining Office
The NoLo Office was originally built for wealthy east-coast investors and mine managers. It boasted two chimneys, plaster-on-lath walls and tongue-in-groove floors. It has been restored to its original 1883 splendor – but with modern amenities: hot-and-cold running water, shower, flush toilet, solar electricity, and Starlink WifFi. The Office sleeps 6-8 and is available for year-round overnight accomodation for NoLo Members.
What visitors to NoLo are saying...
What a spectacular hut! A view from every window. It was a joy to be here with our friends as we all marveled at the rehabilitation of this old mining mill office. The photographs, the attention to historic details, right down to the beautiful plaster.
What a beautiful, cozy hut in an historic location. The restoration of the hut is amazing - and we love the old photos and pieces of the old office throughout.
The kids (and adults!) are fascinated by the history and relics of this place. We had a concert with the fiddle and guitar and told ghost stories by the fire.
NoLo is by far the best backcountry hut we've visited in Colorado, and we've been to a majority of them. Many kudos!!
